“Girl, I Need You” did a bang up job in Round 1 of the Active Con­test at GarageBand.com and held its own against some stiff competition.

It was reviewed by folks all over the world, and sub­ject to raw, unfil­tered scrutiny from peo­ple I didn’t even know… and guess what? They liked it!

The song has a cur­rent rat­ing of 4.4/5 which places it in the top 1% of songs. Fin­ish­ing at #145 in the pop cat­e­gory, it now moves on to Round 2 to see how much fur­ther up the charts it can climb.

Let’s hope it moves on to Round 3 and be one step closer to get­ting played on Yahoo! Launch radio.

bio21 update Performance at the 5th International World Conference for Science Journalists To cel­e­brate the 5th Inter­na­tional World Con­fer­ence for Sci­ence Jour­nal­ists, the Uni­ver­sity of Mel­bourne hosted a recep­tion at the Bio21 Insti­tute on April 18th. I was asked to per­form on the night.

What can I say, this night was amaz­ing. A big thanks to every­one who was there sup­port­ing me and this night her­alds the abil­ity to book myself for cor­po­rate func­tions (or so it seems).
