Things have come to close / Things are at an end / Forever and ever I say / Don’t know how I feel / Doesn’t feel quite real / Hasn’t quite hit me yet / What is this incomplete / Memory that I have / Why don’t you take me as I am / There’s nothing wrong with me / Why don’t you take me as I am / There’s nothing wrong with me / Do you really see? / Do you really see who I am? / Here I sit today / I wouldn’t change me any way / Already know the place where I belong / So take me as I am / Take where I stand / Don’t try to change who I am / What is this incomplete / Memory that I have / Why don’t you take me as I am / There’s nothing wrong with me / Do you really see? / Do you really see who I am? / Why don’t you take me as I am / There’s nothing wrong with me / Do you really see? / Do you really see who I am?
This song came to me when I was making a quick stop yesterday at a music store whilst looking at pianos. I recorded down the introduction very quickly on my phone so i wouldn’t forget it, and sat down this morning to write the song. It is about the celebration of being human. None of us are perfect. Perfect is boring. Human is beautiful.

This song is about freedom and trying to find one’s feet in a world where he is overprotected. Sure, being protected by one’s parents is a great thing, but at times one begins to wonder whether the mother or father will ever see their child as anything else than a child in need of protection? In truth, sometimes it can be a bit stifling, so this song is a portrayal of two conflicting emotions; gratitude and also frustration but not wanting to point fingers. Gosh I can’t believe a human can feel so many things at the same time … I’m surprised the subject hasn’t exploded yet.
The first song to start off the series is one which I wrote lyrics and a top line for as a sample to send off to a local producer who wanted to work on some tracks together; you see … I find I work best when I’m collaborating with other people. Some call it synergy. Some call it magic. I call it musical fusion. I had a listen to the beat and backing music and liked the sound so I thought I could bring something to the table; after all I’ve got the experience and I want to work some tracks like this as I’ve been feeling very angsty as of late. Yeah I know … it sounds a little strange coming from me but hey, we all go through out angsty stage sooner or later right? Thank goodness my angst comes out in music and not some strange and funkadelic way.
Oh dear… I made a posting about how I was going to do one song a day for the next 90 days starting tomorrow… I’m not entirely sure what I’ve gotten myself into, but it’s going to be interesting to see how long I can stick with it and what will come out. OK so I’ve told everyone that I can write songs in about 60 seconds… but what I didn’t tell everyone is that those songs are probably the equivalent to “Mary Had A Little Lamb”.
Tell you what though… I’m going to have a jolly good time pretending that I know how to write songs! First post tomorrow.
You’re probably wondering what the words on the above image is (if not you should be!). They’re lyrics to the song I was writing earlier tonight… see if you can piece them together. Yes that’s right ladies and gentlemen, I’ve finished all my law exams and have gotten back into the songwriting again because when one doesn’t have law school to keep him out of trouble, he needs to find other ways to entertain and amuse himself.
My goal for this summer? One song every day (because I’m loopy that way)… so in about three months holiday, that should be around 90 new songs right? Right? RIGHT? The world’s best revenge is to be kind to someone, so I’m going to kill you all with kindness by giving you all songs every day for the next 90 days; I don’t know why I need to pull revenge on everyone else but this seems as good an excuse as any.
Gosh the feeling of not having any obligation to study has not kicked into me yet. It’s Spring and Summer vacation and I’m sitting here at 12:32 AMtwiddling my thumbs in anticipation of realizing that I won’t be hitting the law books for another three months; I’m sweatin’.
So tomorrow will be the start of my first song. They of course, won’t be all recorded but I’ll record any ones that you guys exceptionally like so leave a comment if you want any particular ones done.
Hi everyone! Just updating you all to see how you are all (and hoping at the same time that you all forgive me for hiding from the commenting for the past couple of days). Gosh I’ve been totally out of it for the past few days because of the whole society-accepted sanctioned torture end-of-year exam thing but this Thursday will be my last exam officially for 2007; Spring and Summer vacation hell yeah baby!! I really can’t wait because I can get stuck into all my Spring/Summer projects full time, do all these road trips I’ve been planning with all my friends (couple of weekend trips away and bike riding through the mountains) and basically go crazy but look amazing at the same time (so it all balances out).
The weather here has really been warming up now so images of summer in the sun and beaches are things that come to mind really easy..
Apart from that, I get the new songs back very soon and I’ll finally be able to sit down, choose the album tracks for the first album and wham, bam, thank you mam first album done and done! Phwoar… it’s been a very long process but you know what this means right? It means I can start my second album and totally rock out!!

Beyonce Knowles is one heck of a singer and entertainer, but we all have the occasional slip up every now and then … like that one time in school when I tripped on a banana peel … really. Hilariously, this slip up turned out to be one that was captured for eternity on DVD. Gosh, I loved being INTOTAINED!
