Song #10 — Saturday, 19 January 2008

song icon Song #10 Saturday, 19 January 2008You ask me to take you home but I won’t / You ask me to take you in my arms but I can’t / I could write to you that I love you but I won’t / I could hold you close to me but I can’t / After all that we’ve been though I’m afraid to get close to you / After all that’s said and done I hope that one day you’ll see that / I am just a man / I am just a man / I could promise you the world but I won’t / Because the simple truth is this / I am just a man / I’m afraid to take from you all these years / I’m afraid that I won’t know what I want / After all that we’ve been though I’m afraid to get close to you / After all that’s said and done I hope that one day you’ll see that / I am just a man / I am just a man / I could promise you the world but I won’t / Because the simple truth is this / I am just a man / After all that we’ve been though I’m afraid to get close to you / After all that’s said and done I hope that one day you’ll see that / I am just a man / I am just a man / I could promise you the world but I won’t / Because the simple truth is this / I am just a man / I am just a man / I am just a man / I could promise you the world but I won’t / Because the simple truth is this / I am just a man.

Driving Away to a Land of Freedom

driving away bw Driving Away to a Land of Freedom

So what do you do when all your hopes and dreams look like they’re going to become a reality? You jump into whatever transport you have necesary, take a deep breath and drive away so you can gain a little perspective on things and watch everything unfold from a distance.

Then you close your eyes, try to breathe and then try to remember what this all feels like. It’s overwhelming, it feels like you’re going to explode and it feels like you can’t wait to get started. But you don’t want to get too ahead of yourself. Not yet.

Over the past few days, my latest songs have come back and now it looks like exciting things are going to happen. I’ve got a few new things coming up which I’ll announce including writing the theme music for a television series in the UK and a few new performances.

Lots of things… lots of things… I’ll knock them off one at a time.

Tomorrow Lyrics

I want your car
I want your name
I want to be everything
I want your house
I want your job
I want to walk just how you walk

All that I seem to know is you
All that I think I know is true
Don’t you know that I have folded into you?
And all the more things I see
Nothing changes in my head
Cause I know tomorrow

I’ll go to far
Can’t seem to care
Just want to talk in the shadow of you
I’ll tell the world about the love that
I have for you
I hope they see what I see

All that I seem to know is you
All that I think I know is true
Don’t you know that I have folded into you?
And all the more things I see
Nothing changes in my head
Cause I know tomorrow

Can’t stop this obsession in my head
Two years now, I’ll be dead

All that I seem to know is you
All that I think I know is true
Don’t you know that I have folded into you?
And all the more things I see
Nothing changes in my head
Cause I know tomorrow

All that I seem to know is you
All that I think I know is true

Nails Lyrics

She’s got this thing about her nails
I got to get to know her now
They’re red and shaped just like my heart
Don’t want our hands to be apart
Next phase I hope continues round and round until we’re together

I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone
I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone

She’s got these eyes they make me wild
The way she walks should be on trial
I think I like her cause she’s cool
She makes me want to go to school
Next phase I hope continues round and round until we’re together

I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone
I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone

We will live together, we’ll grow old and weather rain
We’ll have rides to nowehere, but we’re wanting somewhere alone

I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone
I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone

I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone
I want to paint your nails
Don’t think that they’d understand
Don’t got too much to prove
Don’t think that we should be alone

Beautiful Lyrics

It’s like a word, I feel it linger in my mind
Everything else is fading away
And I can’t deny the magic surrounding
You’re beautiful, so beautiful
As the days go by we will dance up in the sky
In your arms I am lost but I’ve arrived

I’m falling down, listen to what my heart says
You’re so beautiful, so beautiful
As the days go by we will dance up in the sky
In your arms I am lost but I’ve arrived

As the days go by we will dance up in the sky
In your arms I am lost but I’ve arrived
As the days go by we will dance up in the sky
In your arms I am lost but I’ve arrived

So let’s love like they use to
So let’s make the better two
Oh the world spinds round for us
Let’s make the most of this ride

As the days go by we will dance up in the sky
In your arms I am lost
As the days go by we will dance up in the sky
In your arms I am lost but I’ve arrived

Roads Lyrics

Look out the roads they’re wet
Don’t turn it comes at you
You hit the ground it’s cold oh can’t you see?
But soon the pain you feel will leave
The sounds they’re here for you
Those hands they’ll help you through
The light it blinds you now but have no fear
The light don’t you be scared you’ll be there soon

These tears they’ll cry for you
It’s cold that much is true
There’s no one here but memories stand a lifetime
It’s clear the love you have
What will you find

Look out the roads they’re wet
Don’t turn it comes at you
You hit the ground it’s cold oh can’t you see?
But soon the pain you feel will leave
