Beth Skinner Gets Sick; Dave Moyer and Kym Huynh Go Mental
By Kym Huynh on May 6, 2008 in Asides
With Beth Skinner out of action today as she was sick, myself and Dave Moyer took the reigns to record episode 11 of WordCast. Alas without the gentle guiding hand of someone experienced with television and radio such as Beth Skinner, myself and Dave Moyer proceeded to fill the live recording with music for the masses. (Of course we also recorded a very fantabular show for all the listeners out there.)
Don’t forget to tune in every Tuesday when the episodes are released and if you’re free on Monday evenings, join us live for we record the episodes at 7 PM Pacific Standard Time (USA & Canada). (For announcements of recordings before they occur subscribe to my Twitter feed and I’ll let you know when we’re about to begin.)
Else, I’m in the recording studio this Thursday starting the top secret project I was telling everyone about a few weeks ago so day 1 here we go!

Oh wow. I am in love with your guitar :p ’specially like the Apple sticker! ahaha. Kym, you and your guitar both pwn *serious nod*

Thanks Laura I like it too. This one was given to me by my uncle. It’s an old one so I thought I’d just paint things on it and decorate it with lots of stickers; give it a bit of personality.
And yes, the Apple sticker is a feature. Go the Apple!

Guitar = <3
You do realise that I’m going to send my army of spai-spies to sabotage/infiltrate your secret project, right?

Paha. I love the way you spell “realise”, Helena d:

You COULD do that, but the question is, do you really want to? Huh? Huh? Huh?
After all if you did, then where would the cover goodness come from in the future.
Kym Huynh | May 12, 2008 | Reply
It’s the English way of spelling. You Americans and your “z’s” wahaha.
Kym Huynh | May 12, 2008 | Reply
Actually the photo is mirrored in a very funny way, I’m actually right handed but yes, it does look like I’m rather left handed doesn’t it?

Waaah now my brain hurts. -confused-
Oh well, I just thought you were all special and lefty-ish. Guess not
LIFE WILL NOT GO ON

Haha Lauranita what have you been eating/drinking today mmm?
My little sister is actually left handed. Did you know a long time ago they use to burn people who was left handed because they were considered witches?
Laura | May 13, 2008 | Reply
Eep! Scary…
I used to be left handed (: (don’t even ask me how that works lol) I’m right handed ish now. Thrilling, right?
Kym Huynh | May 13, 2008 | Reply
You started off as a left hander? Waaow that’s really cool. This must mean that you are ambidextrous?
What a great skill to have. I wish I was ambidextrous too.
Laura | May 14, 2008 | Reply
Yepperz…well, kinda. I do nearly everything aside from writing left-handed.
I don’t know how true this is, but supposedly you can train yourself to be ambidextrous by like…eating with your left hand, and then you just start doing everything with either hand.
Kym Huynh | May 15, 2008 | Reply
Ahh yes I heard that too. The thing is, I really don’t want to start cutting paper with scissors like a pre-schooler again. I prefer to stay in the lines with my right hand thanks!
I’ll try using my left hand more this week - see how I go.
Helena | May 15, 2008 | Reply
I fail miserably at ambidextrousness. But apparently I hold kinfes+fork the left handed way. Knife goes in left hand, fork goes in the other hand. Yeah. I always argue about that. xD
I cut paper with a math(s)-type compass thing.
…Is that so weird? LOL.
Laura | May 16, 2008 | Reply
Whoa! Helena, you hold your forks and knives the same as me d: *remembers weird video we watched in class last year* it’s the “European Way” lol. Most people “zigzag”, I guess. Randomzzz
Kym Huynh | May 16, 2008 | Reply
Holding the knife and fork that way does, without a doubt, equate to left-landedness. I hold mine the other way hmm… but I do have this little thing I do where I mimic old ladies who use the knife and fork very preciously and then wiggle their bum and they cut their meat into very fine pieces.
I sometimes cut paper by folding and using a knife. You get a cleaner cut that way.

Europeans hold their knives and forks in opposite hands? Noooo can’t be. It is probably just those who are left handed.
What’s this zigzag thing anyway? I cut my food in a straight manner. Up and down. Through and through.
Laura | May 17, 2008 | Reply
European- you hold your knife in your non-dominant hand and just lift straight to your mouth with the fork
Zig Zag-you cut with your dominant hand, put down the knife, put the fork in your dominant hand eat and so on.
If you’re being all proper, that is.
Helena | May 17, 2008 | Reply
Actually, most people I know that are europeaan don’t hold it like that. D: My family is mesed up.
Kym Huynh | May 19, 2008 | Reply
Hey that’s really strange! I’ve never heard of that before. I just hold my knife in my dominant hand, my fork in my non-dominant hand, and lift the food to my mouse with my non-dominant hand.
Kym Huynh | May 19, 2008 | Reply
Wahaha yeah I didn’t even know there were so many styles of holding your knife and fork, especially the one where you put down the knife and use the fork with your dominant hand (zig zag). I guess we learn something new every day huh?

You have a mouse? And you feed it? Aww, that is so cute! <3

Ahahahahaha LOL typo of the month huh? That’s what I meant. Yeah… food to my mouse.
Laura | May 21, 2008 | Reply
Omg. mouses is teh pwn!
(rant) I found a mouse/vole thing in the backyard…and brought it inside as a pet, right?Yeah so my mum kind of umm…killed it( to death).a lot. with a knife.
Moral of the story: don’t get pet mice/voles if your mum has sharp objects and a fear of said rodents

Very wise words Laura. There’s also somet things that I should add.
Also be very careful adopting two mice as they will breed, very quickly. Also make sure you don’t take your friend on his word 100% when he says that they are both female… he could be wrong. Very wrong!
