Beyonce Knowles is one heck of a singer and entertainer, but we all have the occasional slip up every now and then … like that one time in school when I tripped on a banana peel … really. Hilariously, this slip up turned out to be one that was captured for eternity on DVD. Gosh, I loved being INTOTAINED!

Haha Beyonce I still love you. I must say though, that introduction was very dramatic and cool; like my MacBook Pro.

Amongst my study break today for my International Human Rights Law exam this Friday, I stumbled upon the above YouTube clip of Tina singing “Breaking Free”, a High School Musical song. Despite having agreeable symmetry with the whole “breaking free” of law school for 2007 theme and starting Spring and Summer vacation officially, I just damn couldn’t stop grinning like a moron with a nut stuck between his two front teeth.

How often does another person make you grin like an idiot? I’d hazard a guess to suggest not often, and I’m just going to put it out there (because I’m crazy that way) that if there were some local chipmunks outside my bedroom window… I’m sure they’d be welcoming me with open arms as a brother from another mother for my rabid fascination with all things weird and wonderful.

While sitting here and watching gleefully at Tina’s joyous rendition of “Breaking Free” and shamelessly laughing at comments such as, “Hail Satan,” and “I’m crying,” it dawned on me that it didn’t matter that she was singing in a completely different key due to being potentially tone deaf nor did it matter that Tina’s didn’t know half the words; Tina was having fun, and in the process, it made me have fun watching her have fun.

Sometimes, it takes an extreme example to teach you basic life lessons to keep you going, but when these lessons come, you embrace it like wildfire and run with it like no tomorrow.

No matter what we do or how we do things, there is always going to be criticism - “Do it this way,” “Do it that way,” - and all we can do when it comes, is to trust in ourselves enough to keep our heads held up high and keep going, because if we believe in something enough, have the chops to do it and keep going for it, we’ll get there eventually.

At the end of the day, what does it matter what other people say and do? If wearing a light green turtleneck and prancing around in your rooms means happiness, then I say more power to you! After all, if you’ve found something that makes you truly happy, then are you not already miles ahead of 99.99% of the word who everyday search for that ever elusive concept of happiness? Don’t let anyone ever tell you different.

What can I say… Tina… I think I love you.

Above is a compilation clip of what Britney Spears sounds like when she’s performing at a concert; pretty darn cool because as you know … perfect is boring and human is awesome! Now you may ask why does she sound so… different to what we hear apart from the obvious that we all have different eardrums and thus hear sound differently?

When Britney Spears performs, she doesn’t just sing; she performs (dancing, panting, sighing, and gyrating like a fruit). She dances and prances and pulls all sorts of weird and wonderful maneuvers like a Chinese gymnast. For that reason, it is more correct to say that Britney Spears is an entertainer; a very pretty one who’d I’d like to take to the movies.

When someone dances as crazy as she does during the entire performance, it’s not surprising that Britney’s out of breath and puffing harder than a puffer who puffs so much that they puff puffs; badda bing badda boom… lip-sync time! What you’re actually hearing is Britney pretending to sing so that it looks real to the audience. While the audience hears a prerecorded “perfect” vocal line, the sound technician hears what she actually sounds like at the time.

While you’re listening, just remember a couple of things: (1) This is a compilation, so all the bad bits were mushed together making it sound worse than it actually is; (2) Britney is dancing like a madwoman on crack at the same time so there’s no possible way she can sound like she does on the recording; and (3) let’s face it … it’s just her doing enough so she can go through the entire concert. Let’s not crucify her OK? But I love how Britney sounds like she’s singing in the shower. Heck, this is how I sing!!
