Finishing off the Album
By Kym Huynh on Aug 18, 2007 in Journal
Back into the studio again tomorrow, well, technically today (Sunday) as it is 2:18 AM so I’m into the next day already, which means I should get to bed soon if I don’t want my vocals to be shoddy the next day. If the producers are reading this page, they’re going to kill me for abusing my vocals … I know it so hopefully they don’t find this page anytime soon and if they do, the fact that I’ve been wearing scarves constantly over the past two weeks is testament to how much I’m really looking after myself these days.
We’ve been songwriting over the past few weeks and have selected 2-3 new songs to record to finish off the first album. I must say, after the long haul, it will be very nice to have it all finished so that I can shift into second gear and get stuck into some more delectable goodies.
On reflection, it has been a wonderful journey, and I’m amazed at how much I’ve changed by looking back at how things all began, how much I’ve learned, the steep learning curve and how much I’ve grown as a person. It’s cliche but it is the cliche stuff that is true after all.
So let’s see, what have I been doing since my last update? After Eileen inspired me with her acting, I dusted off my acting hat and in between trying to convince a good professor friend of mine that nice people are well suited for mean roles, I obtained the role of a mean bank teller in a short film. I also ended up auditioning for multiple films for the fun of it so much that the casting director started joking that if I attended anymore auditions, he’d write a movie just for me.
In between a lot of songwriting and plans of grandeur, I’m back at Melbourne University for another semester of law goodness. Anyways, it is getting late here so I should head to bed. Just a quick note to update you all!

On this day..
