Keep on Truckin’
Are you a Twitter fan? Come follow me on Twitter and be one of the nicest kids in town!
Who knew that by just using the power of goals, you could benchmark yourself and progress in leaps and bounds? It certainly took me years and years running this blog before I realized that I could have!
On my Way
- Launch my first album from the website.
- Build up a way-too-cool community around the website full of hip and happening people.
- Save up enough income to hire a designer and transform the website into a a reflection of who I am and how I feel.
- I want the someone to pull it all together into a design that’s fresh and arty! I love beaches, summer in the sun, nostalgic memories. I love inspirational colors reminiscent of beach houses, clear blue skies and the whole editorial fashion feel with a big touch of tradition. Something with personality and that added personal touch that reflects a free thinker, freedom and inspiration … a place people will love to visit just because it makes their day that little bit better. Something that will make people feel like I’m talking directly to them. I want to feel proud.
- Monetize the traffic to bring in some income.
- Who knew that a hobby website could bring in money? I kinda did … but this blog would have been the last place I would have thrown up some banners on.
Success!
- Revamp the website into something that makes it interesting for the reader. (Achieved November 2007.)
- Lightning struck me … why not just turn the website update-writing style into how I write my column? Give me serious and 20% funny. I also went a bit mental with the colors here; perhaps I took the “interesting” thing a little bit too literally.
- Do something drastic with my website to encourage people to communicate and interact with me through another medium. (Achieved August 2007.)
- Changed the website to WordPress! I used it superficially in the past in a couple of other projects and the biggest reason for changing over was the great way the comments feature tended to be used. Even then, I had my doubts…
- Build a website to
tell people how awesome I amupdate people on what’s happening in my music world. (Achieved September 2004.)- Honestly… the website was that good; it was actually pretty bad. Hate to say it… boring even. Comments kept getting deleted… I updated once every three - four months… it was just sitting there. I needed to shake things up.
