Song #5 - Friday, 30 November 2007
By Kym Huynh on Dec 3, 2007 in 90 songs in 90 days
I may be young, suppose to know what I want / People keep pushing but I know things will come / So what if I don’t have a college degree / None of that matters to me / None of that matters to me / Take away these clothes they don’t mean much to me / Take away these words don’t need to speak to me / After all that’s said and done / These things don’t mean much to me / Five years from now who knows where I’ll be / I may be travelling the world seeing places unseen / Won’t have much to my name, no money or fame / But none of that matters to me / No none of that matters to me / Take away these clothes they don’t mean much to me / Take away these words don’t need to speak to me / After all that’s said and done / These things don’t mean much to me / Take away these clothes they don’t mean much to me / Take away these words don’t need to speak to me / After all that’s said and done / These things don’t mean much to me / Take away these clothes they don’t mean much to me / Take away these words don’t need to speak to me / After all that’s said and done / These things don’t mean much to me / Take away these clothes they don’t mean much to me / Take away these words don’t need to speak to me / After all that’s said and done / These things don’t mean much to me.
I wrote this song with an old friend Cameron Driessen. (You may remember him from the song “Dirty Ways” that we wrote together.) After his stint in America doing his recording, he took a little hiatus back to Australia and we reunited to write a few new tracks.
This song is about stripping away everything so that you stand there naked for the other person so they see your soul. Nothing more, nothing less.
On this day..
