Kym in Real Life 6: Life Outside Exams
No More Exams, WordCast and Best of the Net Daily Shows
Hello Internet! Back today recording the latest episode of WordCast and doing bits and pieces here for the Bitwire.TV Network including daily show segments for Best of the Net’s Cool Site segment. Looks like the podcasting episodes are going up a notch with a few new podcasts coming out soon and some old ones returning (duh duh duuuhhhh)!
With end-of-semester finals now out of the way, I can finally breathe again (whahey)! Time to get stuck into everything again so if you’ve been somewhat happy that I haven’t been spamming your inboxes with the latest shenanigans that I’ve been up to, prepare to be… inundated… with flair and style woo!
Honestly though, I still haven’t gotten myself out of that, “Hmm, I should really be studying,” mentality. Give me a few more days and I’ll be in full holiday mode I think. Now… off to unpack and clean my room.
Good to be back. Good. To. Be. Back!

Summer is Officially Here!

Well unofficially here as I tend to group together springtime and summertime. Today was the first real day where I woke up (in new bedsheets heck yes!) and the sun was shining directly on my face. It was one of those rare moments where everything came together perfectly and I felt better knowing that I didn’t need to brush my hair as it doesn’t need it anymore given how short it is now.
The actual point of this update is that as this year winds down to a close and 2008 is just around the corner, there’s a lot of exciting new projects that are coming up, which I am involved in. The album will be officially finished after a long two-year recording process, and then I’ll be traveling, starting my second album, working with a few different organizations related to the album and public media, starting my very own talk show and organizing a few different off-shoot projects to keep myself busy and out of trouble. They certainly do call spring the season of new opportunities and sunshine so everyone hold your seats because I’m shifting from fourth to fifth gear!!
A quick apology to all those who left comments, I try to respond to them all everyday but lately there’s been a big rush of comments that I haven’t been able to keep up by myself. No matter as I sat down today and replied to each and everyone of the comments. Keep leaving them; I love reading and responding to your comments!
Finally as exams start in the next week for a lot of us (if they haven’t started already), I wish you all the best of luck. Keep hard at it and then enjoy the looooong holidays we all get after a long academic year (or half year for you guys who start your year in June/July).
Keep on truckin’!

Sun Kissed Hair

Hi guys! How are you all doing? Quick album update, the new songs will be back very soon and I’ll make sure that you guys are the first to hear the latest tracks (very cool). In the mean time, I’ve added “What Have We Done?” to the website, which is a song I wrote for my International Human Rights Law class. It is a song about human rights and how I feel about the subject.
In other news, I have my law exams coming up in the next two weeks so I will be hitting the books every night. Wish me luck everyone! I’ll definitely need it. Then again, nothing comes easy right?
The video performance from MVOSA Gala 2007 will also be up over the next few days for everyone who requested it. Best of luck to all you students out there who are preparing for your final exams. Here’s some good karma wishes for you all.

We Are All Fierce!!

Hi everyone! Just a quick update from Melbourne just to let you guys all know how I’m doing. Here’s me in my new jacket, I feel like such a badass now!
I’ve got some exciting news in the woodworks which I really can’t say much about yet, but we’ll see how things pan out over the next few weeks and then I’ll big a biiiiiiig announcement and you all can celebrate with me because we’re all fierce individuals. Say it again?! FIERCE!!
My university exams come up in the next few weeks so after tonight, I will be turning into a hermit, cleaning my damn room up for the last time and keeping it that way forever and hitting the books so hard that when I surface, not only will I be a total badass but I’ll have so much facial hair Santa Claus will resign and give me his job … and just in time for Christmas too.
Hope you’re all well and I’ll post another update soon. Hugs and kisses.

Musical and Eileen the Wonder Woman
The debut album should be finished any day now. I know I’ve been saying that for a while but this time I mean it! I’ve been spending the past two weeks in lock down studying for these exam finals that begin tomorrow and then after that, I kick it into high gear to finish the thing and start the next project!
I’ve officially begun work on a musical called “The Balinese Princess” which will coincide with the book launch for this children’s book later this year or early next year. I’ll shoot you guys more details as it comes including the launch date. All proceeds will go to charity of course as usual.
Afterwards, I’ll begin work on my first ever musical so look out people!
Other than that, I’ve finished filming my first role in television for a long time. This one is a short film so I’ll get video footage of that online when it is released.
And finally, I’d like to thank Eileen Young who inspired and reminded me how fun it was to act. Her acting debut for “Night is Day” occurred a few days ago and her acting roles are starting to come more frequently now. Congratulations Eileen!

In the Studios with “Back Where I Begun”

So it’s been a while and for the past few weeks, I’ve been concentrating something fierce for my final exams; still one to go and a then I’ll be off for three months!
There’s four new songs in the pipeline but they’re taking an unusually long time to mix so I’m guessing there will be an influx of new songs pretty much soon.
More recently I’ve hit the recording studios to record backing vocals for a Malaysian artist called Clifford, who was recording one of my songs for his album. Boy-o-boy did that give me a vocal workout. Not only did they lower the key for the song, they wanted me to do the backing vocals in a chest voice right up there for the harmonies. Put a high required range plus approximately 600 takes means you’ll have a very tired voice afterwards. I ended up having to wait between loops to record the next track.
Considering this is my first song sourced to an artist, I’m pretty excited and hanging for having a listen to how things turn out! It’s interesting listening to how another person sings the song and how they interpret something that you write.
By the way, if you’re wondering who the guy in the photo is, that’s Cliff. He jumped in there to record some backing vocals too for the fun of it. I walked into the studio thinking the backing vocals wouldn’t take that long to record, we ended going from 7 o’clock to midnight.
So what next? Well I’m going to finish up with these exams, then I’ll get back into finishing off my album. We’ll need to organize some photo shoots for the album and then I’m told they want me to start performing live gigs. We’ll see eh!
Speaking of which, I’ll need to give them a call to see how things are going. Have a good day everyone!
