• Alex of Viper007bond has been work­ing on the new easy embeds for Word­Press 2.9 and offers some tips to help you use them more effi­ciently, speed­ing up your blog­ging with WordPress.
• Word­Press 2.8.6 is a secu­rity release and is espe­cially rec­om­mended for those using mul­ti­ple authors on their blog. It fixes an XSS vul­ner­a­bil­ity in the Press This fea­ture and an issue with upload­ing file names in cer­tain Apache con­fig­u­ra­tions using WordPress.

• Word­Press Theme must have sup­port for post images, and the post image fea­ture will be on the Edit Post/Page panel with a vari­ety of options for includ­ing and dis­play­ing the post image in Word­Press 2.9.
• Otto of OttoDe­struct offers a Word­Press Set­tings API Tuto­r­ial based upon the Word­Press Set­tings API to help users under­stand bet­ter how the API works, with some great tips, too.
• Don­n­cha announced he is now work­ing on, and look­ing for vol­un­teers, to help with WP Super Cache doc­u­men­ta­tion.
• WordPress.com will be includ­ing geo­t­ags for blog posts, soon adding func­tion­al­ity sim­i­lar to the amaz­ing work done by M Realty with Gar­ron Sel­l­iken with their soon-to-be released plu­gin fea­tured on The Octo­pus and Port­land Octo­pus. The Plu­gin pro­vides a unique way of map­ping your con­tent on Google Maps by cat­e­gories and tags, giv­ing vis­i­tors another way of find­ing your con­tent via its loca­tion.
